The Cubs and the Nationals took to the little league field on Saturday. The Nationals held the early lead, but could not stop a late rally by the Cubs who took the 14-10 win.


An offensive explosion occurred during the first inning, with the Nationals taking the 5-3 lead. The Cubs fought their way back to a 9-5 advantage by the end of the third inning.


The two teams fought it out in the fourth inning, leaving the Cubs ahead 13-8. The final inning saw the two teams battle again, with the Cubs holding off a rally, and taking the 14-10 win.


Cubs (14) A. Ford 3 hits and 2 runs; D. Kersey 1 hit and 1 run; M. McAlarnis 1 hit; D. Stidham 2 hits and 1 run; B. Gambill 1 hit and 2 runs; C. Neace 1 hit and 1 run; D. Stacy 1 run, B. McDaniel 1 hit and 1 run; K. Baker 1 run; L. Dixon 2 runs; and B. Howard 2 runs.
