The Perry County Central Commodores opened their 2014 football season on the road at the Clay County Tigers. The Commodores struggled with their offense throughout the game, and managed but one defensive touchdown.
The Commodores struggled with the rain and the Tigers throughout the first half. Clay County was able to put a couple of touchdowns on the board, and went into the break with a 14-0 lead.
After an extended intermission, it was back to the field. Perry Central scored the only touchdown of the third period when Tyler Eldridge picked up a fumble and ran 74 yards for the score. Nathan Pray added the extra-point (7-14).
Despite a strong effort in the fourth quarter, the Commodores were unable to erase the deficit. On the other side, the Tigers scored two more touchdowns, giving them the 27-7 win.
