18 indicted in Perry

HAZARD – The Perry County grand jury indicted 18 people this month, many on charges related to theft or failure to pay child support.

Trilla Brock, 37, of Avawam, was indicted on one count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Brock is accused of possessing a forged check for $250 made out to Papa John’s in a checking account belonging to someone else. Bail was set at $1,000 cash.

Raven C. Akers, 31, of Busy, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport for allegedly failing to provide child support in the amount of $3,907.56. Bail was set at $5,000 cash.

Nancy C. Bailey, 31, of Krypton, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. Bailey is alleged to have failed to pay child support in the amount of $2,318. Bail was set at $3,500.

Michael D. Abel, 29, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport as well, allegedly owing back child support in the amount of $3,840. Bail was set at $5,000 cash.

Jamie W. Stacy, 32, of Bulan, was indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport. Stacy allegedly owes child support in the amount of $7,024.09. Bail was set for $10,000 cash.

William C. Williams, 52, of Crescent Park, Ky., was also indicted on one count of flagrant nonsupport for allegedly owing child support in the amount of $9.307.49. Bail was set at $12,500 cash.

James Michael Bailey, 51, of Krypton, was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment. Bailey allegedly fired a shotgun into an occupied residence on October 9 of last year, “thus creating a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury,” according to the indictment. Bail was set at $50,000 cash.

Debbie L. Combs, 47, of Combs, was indicted on one count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, third offense, and driving on a DUI suspended license, second offense. Combs is accused of driving while intoxicated while her license had been suspended for a previous DUI conviction. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

Harvey Marcum, 37, of Manchester, was indicted on one count of felony theft, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription drugs not in the proper container, first-degree promoting contraband, tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.

According to the indictment, Marcum is charged with stealing merchandise from Walmart worth over $500 in December of last year, while also possessing the drugs Diazepam and marijuana. He is also accused of bringing contraband, such as marijuana and needles, into the Kentucky River Regional Jail while being lodged. The indictment noted that Marcum is charged with tampering with physical evidence for attempting to conceal marijuana in a body cavity and possessing the drug Suboxone. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

John David Little, 26, of Combs, was indicted on one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for allegedly selling oxycodone to a cooperating witness in June of 2008. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.

Randy Ray Ritchie, 27, of Hazard, is facing one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500. Ritchie is accused of taking items from Walmart in November of last year. Bail was set at $10,000 cash.

Gregory Erwin, 24, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of second-degree burglary. Erwin is alleged to have burglarized a residence in December of last year. Bail was set at $30,000 cash.

James F. Barger, 22, of Gays Creek, was indicted along with 21-year-old Samantha Stidham, of Chavies, on one count of receiving stolen property over $500. Barger and Stidham are accused of taking possession of a laptop computer in November of last year while knowing it to be stolen. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.

Jeffrey Lumpkins, 23, of Hazard, and Jerry Lumpkins, 29, of Mozelle, Ky., were both indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking over $500 for allegedly taking cable belonging to Perry County Coal Company in November of last year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.

Robert Keith Caudill, 29, of Cornettsville, was indicted on one count of felony fraudulent use of a credit card. Caudill is accused of using a credit/debit card belonging to another person to make several purchases within a six-month period. Bail was set at $10,000 cash.

David Eugene Begley, 28, of Hazard, was indicted on one count of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and prescription drugs not in the proper container.

Begley is accused of possessing oxycodone and diazepam in October of last year. Bail was set at $20,000 cash.
