Early last week, the Perry County Central Commodores boarded the bus and headed to Booneville to take on the Owsley County Owls. The Commodores jumped out to an early lead, and never looked back as they went on to the 76-48 win.
The Commodores' defense proved to be the key early in as they were able to limit the Owls' looks at the basket. Perry Central turned their defense into instant offense, and took the 17-8 lead at the horn.
Perry Central really cranked up the heat on Owsley County in the second period and entered the double-digit lead plateau. At the break, the margin was 20-points (41-21).
The Owls’ offense continued to improve as the second half began. However, their defense would not be enough to stop the Commodores from extending their lead in the third period. Going into the final period, Perry Central was on top 65-38.
With the outcome of the game all but in the books, both teams cleared their benches for the final period. Perry Central went on to collect the 76-48 win. Chris Noble led the Commodores in scoring with 23 points.
