HAZARD – A Hazard man was indicted Friday on allegations that he stabbed another man to death last month in the Allais community.
Emergency personnel on August 4 responded to a home on Walker Branch Road following a report that someone was possibly dead inside the residence. Workers with the Perry County Ambulance Authority later located the body of Jerry Combs, who had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Combs was transported to the Hazard ARH medical center, where he later died from his injuries.
No arrests were made, but the Perry County Grand Jury on Friday, September 7 returned an indictment against 44-year-old Adrian Banks, charging him with one count of murder, according to court records.
Banks’ bail will be set at $1 million, though as of late Monday afternoon he was not listed as being an inmate at the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.
The case was handled by the Kentucky State Police, and Trooper Billy Pollard is listed as the grand jury witness.
