The Hazard Lady Bulldogs hosted the Owsley County Lady Owls Saturday. The game got off to a rocky start for the Lady Bulldogs, but they were able to pull it together and go on to the 63-56 win.

Hazard seemed to be controlling the tempo from the opening tip, but could not hit their shots. Owsley County was able to make the most of their opportunities, and ended the period with the 17-11 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs opened quarter number two hot, and was up 19-17 just a couple of minutes in. Hazard kept the pace high throughout the period, and went into the locker room with the 35-28 advantage.

The pace cooled off in the third period, with Hazard keeping a firm grip on the lead. The Lady Bulldogs were able to add to their lead, and went into the final frame with a 51-38 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs continued to cool off in the fourth period, opening the door for the Lady Owls to make a run. The run would not have enough time to get Owsley back into the game, and Hazard came away with the 63-56 win. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-0 on the season.

Hazard (63) Brooke Sharpey 16 (12 rebounds), Maddison Niece 25 (8 assists), Sarah Pratt 3, Savannah Roark 4, Kelsi Caudill 4, Kelli Patrick 4 and Hannah Webb 8 (8 rebounds).

Owsley (56) Brandenburg 2, Thomas 8, Handshoe 20, Gibson 6, McIntosh 10 and Becknell 6.
