Nellie Omega Smith, 80, died Friday, Nov. 23 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
She was the daughter of the late Dewey Helton and the late Nellie Pace Helton, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Simpson Smith, and a host of siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bentley and husband Mackey; son Allen Kilburn; brother Clarence Helton; grandchildren Mark Kilburn, Michelle Butler, Eva Lowery, Melinda Yates, Joey Kilburn, Kerry Kilburn, and Kelly Kilburn; great-grandchildren Tyler, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Logan, Alexis, Haley, Savannah, Jordan, Kayla, Kaitlyn, and Max; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the funeral was held on Sunday, Nov. 25 with Rev. Ronnie “Butch” Pennington officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff.
