Fourteen teams representing different schools and groups in Eastern Kentucky, including three here in Perry County, competed at the FIRST Lego League robotics qualifier competition on Saturday, Dec. 15. The competition was held at Hazard Community and Technical College and hosted by the Challenger Learning Center of Kentucky. The teams competed in categories including Robot Game, Senior Solutions, FIRST Lego League Core Values, and Robot Design. The teams were competing to represent the region during the state tournament in Bowling Green. The three teams from Hazard and Perry County represented Hazard Middle School, Robinson Elementary, and Viper Elementary. Pick up next week’s edition of the Herald for an update on the winners.
