Several celebrate railroad’s centennial

Several people turned out on a muggy Sunday evening to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the railroad in Hazard. Dozens were in attendance at the spot where the first train pulled in to town on June 17, 1912, near what is now Home Lumber Company. CSX, which manages the rails in Perry County today, provided a modern train engine onsite, while attendees took photographs with the train.
