On Friday, the Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Leslie County Eagles in a district match-up. The game went back and forth, and eventually needed extra innings to settle the matter. The Commodores were able to come away with the 8-7 win.
Leslie County took the early lead, scoring single runs in each the first and third innings (2-0). Perry Central took the lead in the bottom of the third inning with a trio of runs. The Commodores would then go on to the 5-2 lead in the fourth inning.
The two teams traded runs in the fifth inning (6-3). In the sixth, Leslie County managed four runs, and took the 7-6 lead.
Perry Central tied the score in the bottom of the seventh inning as they forced a run across with a walk. The Commodores would then plate a run in the eighth inning, giving them the 8-7 win.
Derrick Luttrell got the win by going one inning, with one strikeout. Ryan Smith pitched four innings with five strikeouts, and Evan Hurt had three strikeouts in three innings of work.
