Mayor Nan Gorman declared the week of April 15 “March of Dimes March for Babies Week” on Friday, meeting with members of the local March of Dimes organization at City Hall to sign the proclamation.
This year marks 75 years the March of Dimes, a voluntary health organization working to assure healthy lives for America’s babies, has been serving the country by researching, educating, and finding cures and breakthroughs to benefit the health of babies in the U.S.
The March of Dimes’ largest fundraising event, the March for Babies, is held nationwide to help raise money for the organization in the month of April. Hazard will host a walk for the fundraiser on April 21 this year starting at the Hazard High School.
