HAZARD –A Perry County woman was arraigned Monday in Perry District Court and faces charges of robbery and multiple counts of attempted murder following an incident at a Perry County gas station last week.

Kentucky State Police Detective Gary Sandlin said that 20-year-old Lilli Nichole Hurt, of Bonnyman, also known and Nikki Hurt, entered the Willie Miller BP in Grapevine brandishing a knife around 1 a.m. on Thursday. According to Sandlin, Hurt was attempting to rob the store when she allegedly stabbed one female worker, and then another female who was in the store at the time.

According to statements made to police, Hurt also attempted to stab a second employee before leaving the scene.

One of the victims was taken to the Hazard ARH and has been released, while the other was flown from the scene to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. It was not immediately clear the extent of the injuries of the two victims.

Sandlin said that he arrested Hurt around 4 a.m. on Thursday. She had fled the scene of the incident by the time police arrived, but was found a few hours later in a vehicle matching the description of one that left the scene.

Hurt reportedly struggled with police during her arrest, telling WYMT that she had struck one of the officers. Hurt said she did not remember the alleged robbery due to being drunk, and was confused when police tried to take her from the vehicle.

It is unclear at this time what if anything she was able to get away with from the store.

Hurt was taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard where she refused to give a statement before talking to a lawyer, Sandlin said.

Hurt made her first court appearance on Monday, Oct. 1. She was arraigned on charges of robbery, three counts of attempted murder, third-degree assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct, third degree escape, and resisting arrest.

She will be in court again on Oct. 9 for a preliminary hearing.
