Perry man finds over 300 dry land fish, gives to friends and neighbors

Morels, or dry land fish as they are more commonly known in the mountains, are considered a delicacy and are prized by gourmet cooks. A Perry County man seems to have hit the jackpot after finding over 300 of these mushrooms after just one day of hunting.

Marvin Engle, who lives on the Left Fork of Maces Creek, said he went to Leatherwood with his wife, Audrey Engle, and his cousin, Stevie Hamilton, the last week of April to search for the mushrooms. He said this is usually the best time to find them, and after coming home with bags full, his theory may be right.
