The Perry County Central Lady Commodores hosted the Jackson City Lady Tigers last week, using a steady offense and a strong defense to stop the Lady Tigers 9-0.

Perry Central opened the game with a pair of runs in the first inning. The Lady Commodores then tacked on three runs in the second inning for the 5-0 lead.

The Lady Commodores continued to rack up the runs, putting two across the plate in the third inning (7-0). Perry Central failed to score in the fourth inning, but came right back with a pair in the fifth inning (9-0). They were not able to stop the game early, but collected the 9-0 win.

Shelby Sheffield got the win on the mound, going the distance with 10 strikeouts and one walk.

Perry Central stats: Whitney Back 1 hit, 2 runs and 3 RBI (HR), Shaelyn Eversole 1 hit and 2 runs, Maddison Minks 1 hit and 1 run, Shelby Sheffield 2 hits and 2 runs, Rachel Curry 1 hit, 1 run and 1 RBI and Lana Shepherd 1 run.
