HAZARD – The manager of a Hazard restaurant is offering a reward this week for information into a burglary and theft at the business earlier this month.

Two men broke into the Hazard Ponderosa on Morton Blvd. during the early morning hours of May 21, damaging the business’s alarm system and stealing a floor safe containing approximately $3,000, according to police.

A surveillance video taken at the time of the burglary shows what appears to be two white males dressed in black clothing inside the restaurant, their faces obscured by masks.

Now the manager says the business will be offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the break-in.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Captain Jason Duff with the Hazard Police Department at 606-436-2222.

It is a shame that it's summertime. Those boys probably work or worked there and would show up sometime with that NIKE jacket on.
