Perry Central goes 2-2 on the week

The Perry County Central Commodores played four baseball games this week, all of them at home. The team played well, but came away with an overall record of 2-2.

The Commodores opened their season with the Allen Central Rebels. The Commodores fell behind early, but managed to rally late, and pulled out the 15-8 win going away.

Game two saw Perry Central host the Cordia Lions. Perry Central jumped out to the early lead, and never looked back as they were able to bring the game to an early end. The Commodores collected their second win of the season by the final score of 17-7.

Game three would prove to be their toughest yet as they hosted region foe Breathitt County. The game was tight throughout, with Breathitt County holding a slight advantage. However, the Commodores would always stay within striking distance. Unfortunately for Perry Central they would not be able to get over the hump as they dropped their first game of the season 3-6 to the Bobcats.

Perry Central finished off their week with the Harlan County Black Bears. Harlan jumped out to the early lead, but allowed Perry Central to tie the game at five midway through.

The Black Bears then re-established their lead, forcing the Commodores to play catch-up. Going into Perry Central final at-bat, Harlan County led 12-8. The Commodores were able to score two quick runs, and had two in scoring position with only one out. However, Perry Central was unable to push the runs across, and Harlan County went on to the 12-10 win.
