Perry Central and Leslie County concluded the opening round of the 54th district tournament. The Eagles got on the board first, but could not stop the determined Commodores.

Leslie County posted three runs in the top portion of the first inning, while the Commodores countered with two in the bottom of the frame.

The Commodores would later tie the game, and go ahead with a three-run fourth inning. Leslie County remained stymied until their final at bat when they plated a pair of runs, and threatened more. Perry Central was able to hold off Leslie County for the 6-5 win.
