HAZARD – A Perry man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl was found guilty of first-degree rape Tuesday in a trial that started last week.

Stephon Slone, 31, of Scuddy, was indicted in October 2012 after allegations surfaced that he forced the girl to engage in sexual intercourse inside a residence in the Scuddy community in February 2011. With the addition of a charge of persistent felony offender, he faced a possible life sentence if convicted.

Slone remained on trial all last week, with testimony continuing throughout the day Monday and into Tuesday morning. The jury began deliberations Tuesday afternoon, taking less than one hour to return a verdict of guilty on one count of first-degree rape. In a separate deliberation, Slone was also found guilty of second-degree persistent felony offender.

The jury recommended a maximum sentence of 20 years to serve. Slone will be required to serve 85 percent of the total sentence before he will be eligible for parole. He will be formally sentenced on June 13.

This child is doing this only to make her mother Teresa show love to her,it has nothing to do with Mr. Johnson it has soley to do with a lying child and her mothers betrayal. The mother has tryed to pawn the child off on people for years and the poor child doesnt accept the fact that her mother simply doesnt care about her. And she just sent the one person in this world who would literally loved and would have died for her to prison for the remainder of his life. Stephon will die in prison for a crime he didnt commit and I feel sorry for the child in this case because all Stephon has done is look out for her and not want her to throw her life away as a child for some guy. The only thing Stephon is guilty of is not wanting her to date. The Medical Examiner in this case also testified the hymen was still intact and the definition is as follow:

hy·men

[hahy-muhn] Show IPA noun Anatomy .

A fold of mucous membrane partly closing the external orifice of the vagina in a virgin.

Origin: 1605–15; < Late Latin hymēn < Greek hymḗn skin, membrane, the virginal membrane.

Which means the girl was a virgin, How does a man go to prison for raping a virgin people? Our justice system is way out of whack. And as for her testimony lol who couldnt tell it was a lie!?!First she was raped 1 time then turned into 3 then she couldnt rememeber how many times exactly then it was sunny outside an then it was dark outside then she didnt know cause the windows were boarded up. And as for him burning the trailor so no DNA evidence could be discovered, he couldnt have done that he wasnt even near Vicco at the time and plus someone else testified to their knowledge of that matter, and it seems to me as if the mother burnt the trailor herself inorder to make this lie hold in the effort of sending Stephon to prison as she told him she would do numerous times in the past. Her mother testified earlier in Leanns Courtroom under oath that it ws all a lie and the child was out of control. And the child herself actually admitted earlier in this cse it ws lie also. And as for the comment "Some men are smaller than others" I didn't see that Stephon had a problem with letting his penis get measured and pictures taken of it, the size alone should have proved innocence, exspecially with the hymen still intact, however instead an innocent man sits behind bars to satisfy a spiteful woman and her child. But then again this is Perry County. The girl and her family was talking to jury members the entire trial time which wasnt aloud. Her mother talked to other witnesses the entire trial time and lied under oath as did she. The girls brother even took the stand to testify his sister and mother were liars and always has been as far back as he can remember. I know his mother lied the same way on her father as a child for the exact same reason and Teresa's brother Christopher stated that himself, as he also stated that after his father passed away she then went to her mother Fern and begged for forgivness for lying on him for all those yrs. Teresa needs threw under the jail for this and the child needs to go back home to those people who loves her that was sitting in the hallway. The one lady even blowed the child a kiss and told her she loved her even after the accusations being made against the family. You could tell by the look in her aunts eyes on stand that she loves her and misses her. She smiled even on stand once she seen the pics of the child and to me thats not an abusive home. The pics were all happy and she looked happy then and now. At trial she was laughing and smiling and thats not a rape victims profile.

I know this is total bull. Anyone who know's Melissa knows how she is. I've kept my mouth out of all of this mess. But you know what I cant anymore.. Buddy (Stephon) is a wonderful person, he raised Micky and Melissa as his own while their mother was out doing god knows what. Not to mention the fact that her story keeps changing, first it was just once, then it was several times, but news flash you dumbass people on the jury Melissa is a virgin, doctor's even said so.. So correct me if im wrong but if buddy raped her wouldn't she have lost her virginity.

Needless to say once this gets appealed and it will. I will be right there with Buddy testifying because I know more on that little girl than you can imagine. & for the noisy ass people out there wondering why I didn't testify in the first place was because I figured the jury and judge would have enough sense to know when someone is lying (changing her story all the time). her being a virgin. all I can say is you all made a horrible decision..

My baby is due in October and don't think for a second I wouldn't leave my baby with Buddy as a baby sitter or even all-night. Buddy is a amazing person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He provided for those two children when their own mother wouldn't.. He opened his home and everything. I've stayed around buddy for weeks at a time. Ive been left alone with him, road fourwheelers with him (just me and him) so I know 110% that buddy would not touch a innocent child.

so for those of you who gave this post a thumbs up, for whatever.. your just as screwed up as Melissa is and the jury...

At last, some excellent economic news for folks long-mired in the stagnant labor market. “Jobs Spring Back,” exclaimed a typical headline on recent reports that 165,000 private-sector jobs were added in April. Wow — the thunderous, three-year boom of prosperity that has rained riches on Wall S...
