HAZARD — Friday’s “blue moon” was visible at times despite a cloudy sky, but if you missed it, you’ll get another chance in a few years.

The moon didn’t actually change color; the term “blue moon” refers to a phenomenon in which the moon’s cycle results in a full moon twice in one calendar month. The first full moon last month occurred on August 2.

Blue moons aren’t extremely rare, and experts say the next one will occur on July 31, 2015.
