HCTC Nursing Professor Sizemore retiring

Hazard choir gets high marks at district, state competition
The Hazard High School Choir recently competed in the district and state choral competitions, receiving high marks across the board at both competitions. On April 10, the high school choir performed in Pikeville. The groups consist of 44 members, but they competed in smaller ensembles of 16. The Perry Central High School Agriculture students last week dedicated a tree on the school’s campus to former Hazard Mayor Bill Gorman. Memory Lane, the memorial tree trail on Perry Central’s campus, honors those who have passed away that have served or been a part of the community. Jail and bail helping raise money for Relay for Life
Normally, someone going to jail is a pretty negative experience for everyone involved, but Thursday people were “jailed” for a good cause. The annual jail and bail fundraiser for Relay for Life brings in thousands of dollars every year for cancer research. HCTC graduation is set for May 5
Hazard Community and Technical College will hold two graduation ceremonies on Saturday, May 5 at The Forum in Hazard, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A total of 691 students are receiving 1,340 credentials this Spring. Associate in arts, associate in science, and associate in applied science degrees will be awarded along with diplomas and certificates.
