All star classic set for Friday
The ninth annual boy’s Adidas Appalachian Underclassman All Star Classicis scheduled for this week. The game will take place at Perry Central High School on May 3 with the Rookie Adidas All Star game at 6 p.m., Bronze Medal All Star game at 7:30, and the Blue Chip All Star Classic at 9:00. Yankees 10 Padres 6 The Yankees and the Padres battled throughout the game, with the Yankees pulling away late for the 10-6 win. The game was tied after two innings of play (2-2), with the Yankees going ahead 7-5 in the third inning. They then went up 10-5 in the fourth. Tthe 14th annual Soap Box Derby was held Saturday on Memorial Drive in Hazard. The winners of each year’s event (Stock and Super Stock) advance to the Nationals in Akron, Ohio.
