Bulldogs take down Belfry on the road
On Friday, the Hazard Bulldogs traveled to Belfry to participate in the Jim Vaughn Smith Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs took on the host Belfry Pirates in a low-scoring affair. The Perry County Central Lady Commodores hosted the Jackson City Lady Tigers last week, using a steady offense and a strong defense to stop the Lady Tigers 9-0. The Perry Central softball team will be hosting the first ever Tim Short Auto Softball Classic on May 10 and 11. It’s a round robin style tournament with teams from all across Eastern Kentucky. Bulldogs scratch Tigers 13-3 at home
A game last week between Hazard and Clay County was close in the early going, but the Bulldogs were able to break open for a 13-3 win by the time the dust settled. Ritchie and Hylton take Soap Box Derby titles
Tthe 14th annual Soap Box Derby was held Saturday on Memorial Drive in Hazard. The winners of each year’s event (Stock and Super Stock) advance to the Nationals in Akron, Ohio.
