Early Saturday morning the Hazard Bulldogs hosted the Whitley County Colonels. Whitley County got on the board first, but was unable to keep the Bulldogs in check thanks to a three-run homer by Jared Meehan in the third inning.

Whitley County scored the games first run in the opening inning on a pair of extra-base hits. Hazard, however, responded with three runs in the second inning (3-1).

With two outs Jared Meehan worked his way on board with a bunt, and promptly stole second. Kennan Campbell then doubled to bring Meehan home. Campbell then scored on an error that put Bart Teague on first. Chase Patrick picked up Teague with a double, giving Hazard the 3-1 lead.

The Colonels used their next at-bat to tie the game at three with a pair of runs. The lead, however, would not last long.

With Jimmy Miller and A. J. Spare already on base, Jared Meehan was able to change the complexion of the game with one swing of the bat. With his first career homerun, Meehan gave the Bulldogs a lead that they would not relinquish (6-3).

Miller and Spare hooked up again in the fourth inning, giving Hazard an 8-3 lead. Miller drew a two-out walk and came in to score on a Spare double. Spare then stole third and scored on a wild pitch.

Hazard got their last run of the game in the fifth inning when Colby Hoskins (single) scored on a RBI single by Chase Patrick (9-3). Whitley County scored three more runs in the game, but it would not be enough to steal the win away from the Bulldogs. Justin Hicks got the win, going the distance and striking out five.
