Several police officers in Hazard and Perry County were dispatched to locate an escaped inmate of the Kentucky River Regional Jail, who was later located at an apartment in Gorman Hollow.

Police say 28-year-old William Feltner was arrested last week and charged with two counts of armed robbery stemming from an incident at the Texaco service station at Exit 56 in Perry County. Feltner allegedly robbed the store at gunpoint Wednesday night, and then again Friday night. He was arrested Saturday at the Hazard ARH by Perry County Deputy Danny Miller.

Police were advised that Feltner fled the jail in a blue 1989 Chevrolet van which was later located at an apartment complex at Gorman Hollow Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday. Police launched an intensive search at the complex, and later located Feltner in the apartment along with 27-year-old Mazzie Trent.

Feltner and Trent was arrested by officers with the Hazard Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff's Office at approximately 4:30 p.m. Feltner was charged with second-degree escape, while Trent was charged with hindering prosecution.

Details of how Feltner escaped from the jail were not released as of press time yesterday evening.
