Carlo Combs, age 93, of Combs, Ky., passed way Saturday, May 10 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. He was a retired coal miner and served in the Army during World War II.

He is the son of the late Sherman Combs and the late Bessie McQueen Combs. He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Porter Combs.

He is survived by his daughter, Thelma Sue Emory; sons David Carlo Combs, Ronald Combs and Donald Wayne Combs; stepson William Porter; brothers Tom Henry Combs, Taylor Combs and James Combs.

He is also survived by eight grand children and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, Ky. where the family received friends on Monday, May 12. The funeral service was conducted at the chapel on Tuesday, May 13 with Kenneth Smith officiating. DAV rites were performed by local Chapter 64. Burial was at Red Hill Cemetery in Chavies, Ky.
