The Kentucky State Police recently took delivery of 25 beige-colored Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicles for use by the agency’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.

KSP is converting its aging patrol fleet to the new 2012 Caprice after the Ford Crown Victoria was discontinued by the manufacturer.

“As sworn law enforcement personnel with powers of arrest, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers work side-by-side with Kentucky State troopers to help keep our roadways safe,” notes KSP Commissioner Rodney Brewer. “They encourage and promote a safe driving environment among motorists and monitor commercial motor vehicles for compliance with both state and federal laws. As our current vehicles wear out beyond repair and funding becomes available, we’ll be continuing to update our fleet to provide safe and effective response to public safety needs.”
