Lexine Shepherd, 57, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15 in Cornettsville.
She was born September 7, 1955 in Delphia, Ky., the daughter of the late Arnold and Darkis Shepherd, and was also preceded in death by sisters Thelma and Velma Shepherd; brothers Lester and Chester Shepherd; and great-nephew Dustin Adams. She was a life-long resident of Perry County, and was a Member of the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She is survived by sisters Kathleen Baker and husband Eugene of Slemp, Minnie Shepherd of Cornettsville, Justine Slone and husband Bill of Cornettsville, Bobbie Jean Curtis and husband Danny of Bulan, Bessie Mae Stidham and husband Wayne of Bonnyman, Ellen Shepherd of Cornettsville, and Ida Darleen Glover and husband Wayne of Cornettsville; brother Arnold Shepherd, Jr. and wife Pam of Yeaddiss; 21 special nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and nephews, nine great-great-nieces and nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ with Shafter Shepherd, Mike Johnson and Loyall Davidson officiating. The entombment will follow in the Stoney Fork Cemetery located at Delphia. Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements.
