Officials with the Kentucky Division of Water have lifted a boil water advisory issued for several local water customers in the Chavies area.

Hazard City Manager Carlos Combs issued the advisory on Sept. 21, which noted that a bacterial contamination may have occurred due to a main waterline break. Customers affected live along Ky. 28 at the Chavies curve, up to Keneva Road.

Combs on Tuesday issued another notice that the advisory has now been lifted, and tests have shown that the water is again safe for human consumption.
