John McIntosh, 80, of Hazard, died Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the hospice care center in Hazard.


He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and son of the late Willie McIntosh and the late Bessie McIntosh.


He is survived by his wife, Vivian McIntosh; daughters Katherine Fugate and husband Michael, and Carolyn Smith and husband Paul; sister Nancy Johnson; brothers Dewey McIntosh and Granville McIntosh; grandchildren Michael John Fugate and John Mitchell Smith; great-grandchild McKenna Jade Fugate; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 with Granville McIntosh, Norvell Gambill and David Mullins officiating. Interment will be at McIntosh Family Cemetery in Grapevine.


The family requests donations be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center.
