HAZARD – The Perry County Board of Education will sit for a special called meeting next week to discuss and possibly take action on the position of interim superintendent for the school district.

The board is expected to name a superintendent on an interim basis before launching a search for a permanent replacement for current Superintendent John Paul Amis, who announced his retirement during a board meeting last week. Amis’s retirement will take effect Nov. 1.

The board will meet at the district’s central office in Hazard on Monday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. The only items on the agenda include an executive session, after which the board will take action on hiring an interim superintendent if needed.

Well let's see now, which Pumpkin-in-law needs a job these days? No experience or college degree required, after all this is a School Board that determines the academic future of our kids here, so the only experience and skills needed pertain to milking contracts and coordinating kick backs.

Must have a close knit network of family members already employed by Perry County Board of Education. Generous benefits include a lap top computer with pornography already installed, $120,000 annual beginning salary - not including perks. No familiarity with ACT testing or regulations required.

Must be overweight, have stupid, vacant facial features and be willing to have sports facilities named after you even though you never played on a team in your life, let alone be actually distinguished in any sport.

If interested, please send resume to the Pumpkin Patch, C/O Charlie Brown, Perry Central High School.
