The district volleyball tournament for JV and Freshmen was held this past weekend at Buckhorn. The Hazard Lady Bulldogs swept through the competition, and came away with both titles.

In their first game of the freshman tournament, Hazard took on the host Buckhorn Lady Wildcats. The Lady Bulldogs got out of the gates slowly in the first game, but came away with the 17-15 win. Game two would not prove to be so difficult as Hazard took the game, and the match, 17-9.

The Lady Bulldogs took on the Perry Central Lady Commodores in the championship match. Hazard easily took the title, winning in straight games 17-8 and 17-9.

Hazard started the JV tournament with Buckhorn as well. This proved to be a difficult match as it would go three games. The Lady Bulldogs took the first game easily 21-6, but could not hold off the Lady Wildcats in game two Buckhorn forced a third game with the 23-21 win. Hazard put the game on ice early in game three, and went on to the 21-10 win.

In the championship game, the Lady Bulldogs took on the Leslie County Lady Eagles. This match would only go two games. Hazard took the first game easily 21-13, but struggled with the Lady Eagles in game two. However, the Lady Bulldogs would triumph in the end with the 21-19 win, giving them both titles.
