HAZARD — For the second time in October the Perry County Grand Jury met to consider more cases that were up for indictment. During the first grand jury meeting 30 indictments were returned, and additional 11 were handed down last week.

Sharon Hensley, 34, of Hazard, was indicted this month for second-degree escape and resisting arrest. Hensley had allegedly been involved in a plot to steal $17,000 from UBet by staging a carjacking. After being arrested for the alleged carjacking, Hensley was released on bond and put on home incarceration. She was then alleged to have absconded from home incarceration before being found by the Kentucky State Police. A week after being re-arrested, Hensley allegedly attempted a second escape by fleeing from a transport van in the parking lot of the Kentucky River Regional Jail.

Hensley was again captured and was indicted this month on the second escape attempt. Her bail is set at $20,000.

Bruce Combs, 54, of Chavies, was indicted for trafficking in a controlled substance and some traffic offenses. Combs was allegedly in possession of 130 methadone and seven oxycodone tablets on May 14. On this same date he was also found to be driving on a suspended license and without a seat belt, according to the indictment. He was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, operating on a suspended or revoked license, and failure to wear a seat belt. His bail is set at $30,000.

Another indictment this month is for Jacob L. Roberts, 28, of Hazard. Roberts was indicted for allegedly possessing a forged $100 bill, possessing paraphernalia, and possessing and selling marijuana on Feb. 28. He has been charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of marijuana. His bail is set at $30,000.

Also indicted this month was Douglas W. Strong, 47, of Hazard. Strong has been charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree possession. These charges are from an April 2 incident in which Strong was alleged to have illegally sold four hydrocodone tablets. His bail has been set at $20,000.

Michael W. Ritchie, 50, of Hazard, was also indicted this month on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On Feb. 15, Ritchie sold two oxycodone tablets to 47-year-old Dale Dashner, according to the indictment. On the same date he was allegedly in possession of a handgun after previously being convicted of a felony. His bail is set at $30,000.

Dashner, of Hazard, was charged after allegedly purchasing the drugs from Ritchie. He was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and failing to give a proper signal. His bail is set at $20,000.

Also indicted this month was Natasha F. Jones, 29, of Fisty. Jones was indicted on charges of tampering with physical evidence, first-degree promoting contraband, theft by unlawful taking under $500, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The indictment alleges that on July 1, 2012 Jones was found to have stolen items from Wal-Mart. In an attempt to conceal pills, she tried to swallow them, and was also found to have an item used to hold controlled substances. Once she had been taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail, the indictment continues, she was searched and found to be in possession of Alprazolam. Her bail is set at $20,000.

Also indicted was Julianna M. Davidson, 32, of Hazard. Davidson was indicted on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree promoting contraband, and possession of drug paraphernalia. On July 6, Davidson was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Her bail is set at $20,000.

Aneisha J. Hill, 22, of Hazard, was also indicted this month. Hill was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance when she was allegedly found in possession of two oxycodone tablets on June 18, 2012. Her bail is set at $20,000.

Shane Taylor, 38, of Cornettsville was indicted for first-degree promoting contraband. On April 29, Taylor allegedly brought a controlled substance into the Kentucky River Regional Jail. His bail is set at $20,000.
