Floyd Lewis, 72, of Brownsfork, died Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was born Nov. 17, 1940, the son of the late Chester and Leona Lewis, and was also preceded in death brothers Flex Lewis, Chester Lewis, and Willie Lewis; and sister Sarah Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Lewis of Hazard; sons Robert Lewis and wife Terri of Alabama, Jimmy Ray Lewis and wife Rhonda of Georgetown, Willie Floyd Lewis and wife Elizabeth of Brownsfork, and Joseph Lee Lewis and wife Mona of Prestonsburg; daughters; Katherine Caudill and husband Tony of Brownsfork, and Carolyn Williams and husband Danny of Brownsfork; sisters Rachel Collins of Brownsfork, Mae Baker of Lexington, and Betty Richards and husband Jimmy of Florida; special friends Rick Hartley and Johnny Amburgey; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 with Ronald Davidson officiating at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard, where the family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday evening between the hours on 6 until 9 p.m. The Lewis Family Cemetery located at Brownsfork is the place of burial.
