ARY – Officials with the Perry County School District will soon begin the process of hiring a new principal at Robinson Elementary after Scott Brown resigned from the position this week.

Interim Superintendent Jonathan Jett confirmed Brown’s resignation, which was effective on Wednesday, but declined to comment on any further details of Brown’s departure from the school.

Robinson is traditionally one of the better performing schools in the county, with the middle school scoring a proficient ranking on the latest accountability scores released by the Kentucky Department of Education earlier this year.

Jett said a replacement has not been named, and he plans to meet with the site-based council Thursday at 4:30 p.m. to explain the process of finding a new principal for the school.
