Eugene “Boney” Pratt, 81, of Viper, died Sunday, Dec. 30 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines.
He was the son of the late Hiram Pratt and the late Abby Hall Pratt, and was also preceded in death by sons Richard Brewer and Eugene Pratt, Jr.; sister Georgie Eversole; and brothers J.P., Hassell, and Louie Pratt.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Pratt; daughters Pam Feltner and Kathy Ellis; sons Randy Pratt, Todd Pratt, and Tim Pratt; sisters Kathleen Hall, Mary Ruth Riley, and Carol Combs; brother Clyde Pratt; along with 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2 with Rev. Dana Feltner officiating. Interment will be at Ben Cornett Cemetery in Viper.
