Police search for suspect in Viper shooting

VIPER — Police in Perry County are searching for a suspect after a shooting that happened Wednesday morning.

Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call from Perry County 911 about a possible shooting on Dusty Road in the Viper community at approximately 1:57 a.m.

Officials with the police department said preliminary investigation indicates Johnny R. Clark, 38, of Viper received multiple gunshot wounds while inside his residence. The perpetrator then fired several shots through the door before fleeing the scene.

Clark was taken to Hazard ARH and transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing and there have been no arrests made at this time.
