Buckhorn starts All ‘A’ with win

The Buckhorn Wildcats opened their defense of the 14th Region All “A” title on the road at Lee County. The game would need a couple of extra periods to settle the issue, but in the end, the Wildcats were able to come away with the win.

The game was tight in the opening frame, with Buckhorn taking the 15-12 lead. Lee County turned the tables in the second period, cutting into the lead. However, the Wildcats were able to go into the locker room with the 34-32 advantage.

The Wildcats began to pull away in the third period, and eventually notched a double-digit lead. Going into the final frame, Buckhorn held the 55-46 lead. Lee County went to work in the fourth quarter, and erased their deficit, forcing an overtime period.

The two teams played to a 12-all time in the overtime, putting another four minutes on the clock. The pace slowed in the second overtime, but the Wildcats would outpace the Bobcats, coming away with the 94-92 win.
