HAZARD — Road crews were out early Friday morning combating slick roads left over from an overnight snow storm that quickly dumped around three inches in some areas of Perry County.

By 9 a.m. secondary and county roads, and even parts of Highway 80, remained slick and hazardous. Officials urged residents to remain at home unless otherwise necessary.

The snow also forced several cancellations. Classes in both the city and county schools were called off early, as were classes at Hazard Community and Technical College.
