Rex Groler, 69, of Hazard, died Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Hazard ARH medical center.

He was a retired chief engineer for Community Hospital East and the son of the late John Franklin Groler and the late Colleen Sullivan Groler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Groler.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Rose Melton Groler; daughter Dawn Marie Groler of Hazard; sons Danny Lee Groler of Indiana, Rex Dee Groler of Indiana, John Robert Groler of Indiana, and Jackie Eugene Melton, Jr. of Georgia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. No services will be held.
