Wildcats fall in second match-up on Saturday

The Buckhorn Wildcats finished off their Saturday with the Phelps Hornets. The Hornets took the early lead, leaving the Wildcats to play catch up throughout the contests. Unfortunately, Buckhorn came up on the short end of a 10-7 score.

Phelps opened the game with a pair of runs in the top of the first (0-2), and followed that with seven runs in the second inning (0-9). Buckhorn would pick up their first run of the game in the bottom of the second (1-9).

The Wildcats got the better of the Hornets in the third inning, outscoring them 2-1 in the frame (3-10). Buckhorn would rally in the fifth inning (three runs), and plate a run in the seventh (7-10), but eventually ran out of steam. Phelps would go on to win the game by the final tally of 10-7.

Buckhorn stats: Alex Stokely 1 hit, Johnavan Stidham 1 hit, Richard Stidham 2 hits, Caleb Napier 2 runs, 1 hit and 1 RBI, Josh Griffith 1 run and 1 hit, Daniel Hurley 1 hit, 1 run and 1 RBI, Nick Stidham 1 hit and 3 RBI, and Austin Napier 2 hits and 2 RBI.
