Benny Holcomb, 70, of Viper, died Wednesday, April 17 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was born in Perry County on February 23, 1943, to the late Ambrose and Polly Holcomb, and was also preceded in death by sisters Zola Mullins, Carease Banks, Mary Couch, and Irene Crease, along with one brother, Elmer Holcomb.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Holcomb; sons Lee Holcomb and wife Tina, and Tony Holcomb, all of Viper; daughters Sheila Holcomb of Hazard, and Rhonda Caudill and husband Ricky; step-daughter Melissa Holcomb and husband Sam, sisters Joyce Engle, Geneva Williams, and Ruby Cornett; best friends Andrew and Shirley Lewis; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of Viper Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20 with Virgil Hurt and Andrew Lewis officiating at the Right Fork Church of Christ in Viper. Burial took place at the Adams Lewis Cemetery in Viper.
