On Tuesday, the Perry County Central Lady Commodores traveled to Jackson to take on the Lady Bobcats. The Commodores took the first meeting of the season with the 4-2 win.


Perry Central opened the game with four runs in the first inning, but then went ice cold. However, the Lady Commodores’ defense stood strong and preserved the lead.


In the fifth inning, the Lady Commodores tacked two runs onto their advantage, taking the 6-0 lead. The Lady Bobcats picked up their lone run in the seventh inning, setting the final score at 6-1, giving them the sweep of the season series.


Perry Central stats: Pam Sebastian 3 hits and 2 runs, Whitney Back 2 hits (HR), 2 runs and 2 RBI, Rachel Curry 2 hits, 1 run and 2 RBI, Hannah Johnson 1 run, Shelby Sheffield 1 hit and 2 RBI, and Lana Shepherd 1 hit. Shelby Sheffield: 1 run, 3 hits, 12 strikeouts and 1 walk.
