He was the son of the late Monroe Shepherd and the late Allie Jones Shepherd.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Shepherd; sons Mark Anthony Merrell Shepherd, Michael Anthony Shepherd, and Timothy Buddy Shepherd; brother Felix Shepherd, and eight grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home of Hazard where the family received friends on Tuesday, June 30. The funeral service followed with Billy Burke officiating. Internment was at Happy Community Cemetery located at Happy.
