The 3rd Annual Crockettsville Charity Concert and Trail Ride will be held this year on September 11 and 12, a Saturday and Sunday, at the Crockettsville stage on Abner Farm near Buckhorn.
Though the concert and ride was originally named for the event’s founders, the country music duo Halfway to Hazard, the group has since gone on hiatus, and the event’s name has officially been changed as well.
But organizer Janet Smith said she expects both Chad Warrix and David Tolliver, who made up the duo, to appear as well.
Last year’s concert boasted some of the biggest names in country music, such as Tim McGraw, and Smith said while the lineup for this year’s concert hasn’t been announced, she still expects a good concert.
Smith said Warrix has contacted several people, but it’s “still a little early” to make a formal announcement.
“I think we’ll have a really good lineup,” she said.
Though the concert and ride provide an outlet for good music and a fun trail ride the following day, the event also serves as a fund raiser for the Buckhorn Children’s Center. Last year’s event saw 25,000 people attend the concert and raised $200,000 for the children’s center. The first concert raised over $100,000.
The present schedule will see local music take the stage at 11 a.m., with Halfway to Hazard and friends beginning their show at approximately 3 p.m.
