Nora Eversole Rakel, 71, of Lexington, formerly of Hazard, widow of William Rakel, died Sunday, August 1 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center.
Born in Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Isabelle Eversole. A member of Pax Christi Catholic Church, Nora was a retired administrative secretary with Sencorp. She is survived by brothers Harold Eversole of Hazard, Joe Eversole, Jr. of Owensboro and Jesse James Eversole of Hazard; sisters Martha Jackson of Claysville, Pa., Irene Smith of Hazard and Virginia Henson of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Irvin, Estill and Luther Eversole and Brown Combs; and a sister, Gertrude Eversole. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 2 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Visitation was on Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Hazard.
