On Thursday, the Hazard Lady Bulldogs took on the region’s top volleyball team in the Letcher Central Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars have not suffered a region loss in their history, and would have a tough time keeping the record alive against the Lady Bulldogs.
Hazard was able to keep pace with Letcher Central in the first game, and extra serves would be necessary to settle the issue. The Lady Cougars were able to pull out the win in the end 26-24.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to keep the pressure on in the second game, forcing the Lady Cougars to dig deep for the win. Letcher Central, however, was up to the task, pulling away late for the 25-15 win, giving them the sweep.
