Dajcor Aluminum, Inc. completes first shipment out of Chavies

On May 27, it was announced that the Dajcor Aluminum, Inc. has completed and shipped the company's first shipment out of their East Kentucky facility, located in Chavies. This shipment, said local officials, is Dajcor’s first U.S. manufacturing endeavor, and is very beneficial for Perry County and the state as a whole. “Manufacturing jobs are critical to us to rebound and rebuild our economy with the loss of coal. To have an aluminum extrusion factory here right in the heart of Appalachia is just a huge boost to the economy and to the morale,” said Perry County Judge-Executive Scott Alexander. Alexander said the Chavies location currently has 22 employees and is hoping to have full production going and to employ more than 200 people within six months to a year.
