HDA celebrates completion of new home

On March 4, the Housing Development Alliance held a home dedication and open house to celebrate the completion of the Spencers’ house on Sixteenmile Creek Road, Dice. The home was built by local volunteers and through the generous support of donors and supporters during the HDA’s Community House-Raising fundraiser held for the “Supporting Success in Perry County” challenge in Oct. 2019. During the open house, community members were welcomed to visit and tour the house, meet the Spencer family and speak with HDA staff and volunteers who helped build the house. The HDA said they were appreciative of the help provided by the volunteer groups who helped build the house, including: AEP KY Power, the Perry County Central JROTC, Hazard High School, FAHE, Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Community and the First Presbyterian Church of Hazard (Larry Monroe). The Spencers officially moved into their new house on Thursday, March 5.
