A Laurel County man was recently indicted and was scheduled appear in Perry County Circuit Court May 9 for drug and weapon-related charges in connection with a shooting incident.
Arlie T. Lovins, 42, of East Bernstadt, was arrested in April and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (three counts), first-degree disorderly conduct, public intoxication and illegal possession of a legend drug.
In April, court documents said, Lovins fired shots with a rifle from his residence and from another neighbor’s driveway, where he intentionally shot in close proximity to three victims creating a substantial danger of physical injury or death.
Lovins then appeared at Corkwood Lane in Rowdy under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances, the indictment said. Additionally, the indictment charged, Lovins possessed the drug Imitrex without a valid prescription.
Lovins’s bail is set in the amount of $15,000 cash.
