One man was injured and another man arrested after an alleged stabbing incident June 20 in Hazard.
According to a statement from the Hazard Police Department, Lt. John Holbrook was conducting neighborhood patrols at approximately 7:44 p.m., June 20, when he observed a man laying in the road in the area of Newland Street.
The man, the statement said, appeared to be suffering from a knife wound.
Holbrook, the statement said, immediately contacted emergency medical services and began rendering aid to the individual until EMS arrived, at which time he began investigating.
The investigation, HPD said, led Holbrook to Combs Street, where he identified Donald Sizemore, 39, as the assailant.
Sizemore was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on charges of first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
The victim, whose name was not released as of presstime, was recovering and improving, HPD said.
The incident remains under investigation.
